fuck mensa. i don't wnana belong to an 'elitist' organization. there's absolutely no point to mensa at all man. ooooh, i'm smarter than everybody else. prove it, big shot, with your actions, not a random number.
so you take the test and join, then what? put it on your resume? that's athe only purpose i see to it. and that just draws more attention to you, if anything. then others expect more out of you. Don't live up to the standard? 'this guy has the intelligence of Einstein but can't organize his life/thoughts/whatever." i dont know about you guys, but at work, i wanna have less responsibility.. maybe later in life when I'm done with school I'll want more 'cause it'll mean something, but this job is a stepping stone. i'm not even afraid to say that at work, but I only tell those who I know undrestand. some of the nurses would probably get pissed, but that's their fault for dreamin to be a nurse, muahahahahahaha.
there are common interest groups in Mensa. big fucking deal. there are common interest groups everywhere. oooh, they do community service. so does the local YMCA.
From the Constitution of Mensa, there are three main purposes of Mensa:
- Identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity.
- Encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence.
- Provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for members.
show me the point in those bullet points, and I'll show you an idiot. muahahahaha
after taking the one practice exam (which i do believe we both did back in January), I quickly realized that the test might be more random than NHL, and that's quite an achievement. i'll still never out the answer to "which one is different? a ship, a tractor trailer truck, a motorcycle [with a guy sitting on it], or a sedan. which one? it wasn't ship, either. goin' based on wheels, it'd be ship. based on which picture has a person in it or can't carry cargo, it'd be motorcycle. uses diesel? tractor trailer. what's the answeR? nobody knows, and then again, nobody cares.)
i'd easily pass the test. no point though.
