Not even halfway through the article and thats gotta be the conclusion. parents sayin that after their adult children go to therapists, they'll start sayin their parents sexually abused them as a child...clinicians using leading questions assuming the clients have had sexual abuse. fricken rigged.

" makes sense.
I dont know man, here's my thinking. if you have a repressed memory for 20 years, 30 years, 10 years, i dont care how long, if your life was nothing shabby - i dont care if you're depressed or sad or whatever bullshit, thats human nature, get over it - then you have nothing to fuckin worry about. your life couldnt have been worse, and is probably worse NOW that you have thsese "repressed" memories. now u want a law suit for your current emotional state, 20 years later? where's your proof? where's your evidence and witnesses? guess u dont need those for a civil suit, but you do for criminal. There's a reason, as stated in teh article, that statute of limitations exist. NO IDEA why states would change that in the early 90's to allowing cases to open within a few years time frame after someone "found" their memories. Hypnotist therapy is known to be a sham, I just can't see how a court of law could take these cases seriously. Apparently they do, though jurors are skeptical. not skeptical enough, though.
and then you get committed into taking it to court, after talkin to the therapist about something that never happened - and here's the important part ...these idiots are downtrodden, waahhhhhhhhhhhmbulance calling parasites of life, and HEY I FOUND A REASON I HATE MY LIFE. AND I CAN GET A LOT OF MONEY FOR IT. not gonna make me happy, but at least I can pretend. and BOOOM now you're a sexual assault victim taking this shit to court, and you have to play that role.
I wouldn't convict if I was a juror, unless there was substantial evidence to support the claim.
the easiest way for the defendant - they gotta be male 99%+ of the time - would be prove how much of a human being who loves life you are. show pictures of family trips, vfamily videos, and how you supported the child with normal parenting roles. how you volunteer or support co-workers, community members, whatever.
How could you even argue against that? unless you really are a dick of a person, then your case isn't much to stand on.
