poke check works? let me watch

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/1208/olympics-london-2012-day-11/content.9.html   I was watching this heat at the gym today 'cause I was stretching in front of the TV.  This Chinese dude was the favorite to win gold in the 110 meter hurdles, and what does he do? as you can see in the picture, he hits the first hurdle, lands weird on his left foot, and then falls or something on his right ankle. I immediately thought "broken ankle" 'cause it looked like the ankle was twisted laterally.  Some guy at the gym looked at me like "what?" and i looked up at the tv .. he said "broken ankle?" and I replied, "Sure looks like it to me."  No idea what the chinese guy was doing - hopping around for a few minutes, no doctors around, no physicians, no trainers.. even the gym guy said "where are the doctors?"   yeah, really.

Turned in my 4 applications today. Talked with the Excela health people in person.. evidently they care mostly about science grades, then overall GPA.  The woman said I had a great outlook and good perspectives.  I told her, "I'm not worried about what happens 'cause I can either get accepted or not get accepted, and if not, then there's always next year. Just gotta stay positive."  I did ask her if the type of ICU matters for the experience factor.. she said not really but they do look at the type of patients and what the ICU offers.  To me it sounds like it does matter, but who knows.  All I know is Science Grades > GPA > everything else.  She asked me what my GPA and GRE scores were so I told her and she said something like mine are fine.  Yeah, everything's fine except MAYBE my length of experience (average is over 2 years, I have 1.5) which isn't a problem really and my science grades (GPA is like 3.27 for that, 3.52 overall).

NHL 13 - dang, what a poke check! definitely works.   I love that skate-faster-with-the-puck feature.  It was in other videos.. definitley makes the game look more realistic.   Dang, better AI forecheck/backcheck, nice bounce-off-the-board passes, nice chips up the boards,

powder mix - bought 4 cases of Crystal Light packets, $2 for 8 packets which is 2 gallons, cheaper than gatorade and no sugar.  hm.. looking online, there's kool-aid, crystal light, ocean spray. nothing's cheap, either.  This stuff is awesome - tastes good, no sugar, and one packet goes into my gatorade bottle.  Might be my new best friend.. maybe walmart will have them cheaper next time I want some.  Definitely perfect for work.  Can't drink water all of the time, and gatorade is loaded with sugar even if you don't put much in (then it tastes like shit anyway).

Handball - if you think water polo is ridiculous, go on youtube and watch 20 seconds of handball.  It's not the high school game we played.. It's basketball with a large perimeter that you can't go inside of, evidently.  It's water polo with a large perimeter and no water.  It's extremely ridiculous.

nhl 13 news on uckdaddy.  good video to watch.

poke checking and hitting look great, even the forecheck looks dangerous and the dump and chase.  theres figure skating but it seems to be equalized by teh poke check, hitting, and being in the lanes.

ironically, it says loose pucks are more abundant, but it seems like having a player in the lane of a pass or loose puck gives immediate control to that player, rather than having ambiguously decided loose pucks.  even after a shot the Offensive F guy near the boards immediately gets the bouncing puck rather than having it continuously bounce for teh D man to arbitrarily pick it up.

positional play looks extremely important.

looks good.
