so how does that magic jack work? it's a free app? yeah, letang is goners. shero said the same thing he said about staalsy and look at what happened. they have despres, martin, orpik, bortuzzo. should have never gotten rid of michalek.
bennett gonna be a top 6 forward i guess? we'll see about that. they'd be stupid to get rid of dupers, though. re-signed kunitz, need to get 1/3 of that top NHL line back in action. I don't see Bennett on it.

1. Lynch and Frost had never wanted to solve the mystery, ever.
2. Lynch and Frost were making it up as they went along.
Sounds like Lost, where 1 becomes reality.
The beautifully shot but structurally pointless "Fly" episode is a case in point; any episode that causes a critic to gush over "the Aristotelian unity of time and place" immediately deserves suspicion.
yeah, that was a "neat" episode but rather pointless. nowhere near as bad as the spider episode of Lost though, where I almost gave up right then and there. hung in a few more episodes.

had dinner with friends. Thanks to their hospitality, we dined in a highly civilized, but by no means flashy or famous, Italian restaurant just off of midtown, where the office buildings begin to give way to townhouses. One of the pleasures of dining in such places is that you get real professional waiters: not just kids trying to make a few bucks, or out-of-work actors, but middle-aged people who've done it before, who take it seriously as their life's work, and who do it with dignity and grace. Our waiter was one of those. Probably in his late forties, impeccably dressed, knew how to show up when we needed something and to disappear otherwise.
yeah dude, when we went to New York City for New Years 2011, we went to this seemingly low-key Italian restaurant in... what do you call it.. Greenwich I guess? Southern part of Manhattan. The waiters were top notch, man, impeccably dressed, at your service with no unprofessionalism detected. I couldn't understand him, though, 'cause he was pure Italian with the heavy accent. ha

we took apart about half of the backyard deck yesterday. A ton of sand in the yard where the pool was. Well, probably a few ton, no joke. Mom wants to take the far back part and make a patio out of it. Then, the neighbors were saying they'd take it to extend their deck. Even Emily asked "why? where would they put it?" Who knows. I don't want it though. Got rid of all of the pool equipment, got $70 for the metal from the pool.STar Trek (2009) - probably the perfect action flick. Everything that happens has a purpose, the dialogue isn't always shallow, and the characters have motivations. Good stuff. I got 2/3 of the way through before work tonight. I imagine Strek Trek 2 is just as good.

Dan Bylsma wins U.S. Olympic head coach job over John Tortorella
how the hell di dthat happen? I'd give it to Babcock or Quenneville, if they arent associated with Canada.
And that is not the only aspect of Episode III that you will see in a different light. If you watch the movie without doing the prep work, General Grievous—who is supposed to be one of the most formidable bad guys in the entire Star Wars cycle—will seem like something that just fell out of a Happy Meal. But if you've been boning up, you'll have seen Grievous slay many a Jedi. Hayden Christensen, who plays Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader, has taken flak for his performance. Anakin is supposed to be a tragic figure endowed with cosmic powers, wrestling with an impossible moral dilemma. In the movie, he seems more like a homecoming king who has just found a scratch on his Camaro. If you've seen the Clone Wars cartoons and read the books, you'll understand that the kid is a seriously damaged veteran, a poster child for post-traumatic stress disorder. But since none of that background is supplied by the Episode III script, Mr. Christensen has been given an impossible acting task. He's trying to swim in air.

Chara's been a huge factor in the Bruins' success throughout the playoffs, but one wonders if his candidacy is cooked after the Blackhawks scored seven of eight goals with him on the ice.
I said to the one nurse who's a hockey fan yesterday before leaving work: Chicago in 6. I stand by that statement.
Kane or Crawford for MVP. Rask if Boston wins. Nobody else comes close.

The article you just sent - i have that one saved, too. gonna try to readi t right now before i leave work.
I wish you'd have given me this written question ahead of time so I could plan for it. . . . I'm sure something will pop into my head here . . . you just put me under the spot . . . and maybe I'm not as quick on my feet as I should be in coming up with one . . .
There's no need to multiply the examples of gaps and gaffes—which are not aberrations in the speaking style of the far right but rather its basic unit of composition. Their linguistic world is that of the anti-Extemp, where failures in fluency are marks of authenticity, ignorance is often a point of pride, and tautology supplants cogitation. Romney, earlier this year: "I'm not familiar precisely with exactly what I said, but I stand by what I said, whatever it was."
WOw. really? Sounds like somebody trying to hold onto his power.

27. I'm also not surprised the Penguins won't buy out Marc-Andre Fleury. Malkin's eight-year, $76-million extension (and Kris Letang's potential deal) doesn't kick in until next season. You have another year to see if a new goalie whisperer will revive Fleury's game. If it doesn't work, the buyout is less. And Tomas Vokoun proved he can carry the load.

Bylsma doesn;t reign in his players, doesn't act like a strong fundamental coach. I actually have zero cares for the Pens next year. If they win a cup, good on them. I don't see Pens winning anything, they can only prove me wrong at this point.

yeah, deaugavins had that wide open net backhand and trips up. hahahaha. crawford looked like he played on his head in OT.
My groin is sore as heck from doing the maximum wieghts at PlanetFitness. So get this. I asked the guy at the counter who works there if they have any barbells so I could do deadlifts. "What's a deadlift? Is that when you go like this?" as he proceeds to do a fake deadlift. COudlnt' believe it man, doesn't know what a deadlift is. If you work at a gym, you know that. Basic physical fitness. No, they don't have barbells but they have SMith machines which are barbells in a stationary position.. can't move it forward or backward, only up and down. makes it easier to do squats.. didn't make it any easier to do deadlifts for some reason. So my groins.. they had the leg adductor machine. 290 lbs + 15, so I guess 305 pounds is max. I started at 110 like I would do at Anytime Fitness. Way too easy so I kept increasing it by 50 lbs. still too easy until I got to 305. What a joke.. I was doing sets of 20. It was getting hard after 15 but not impossible. Makes my knees feel better.
I'll probalby watch the chicago series. BYlsma with the 2 year extension and Fleury #1 goalie? I'm done with the Pens maybe. They were talking on the radio this morning (raining way too hard to ride the bike even with rain gear.. thunderstorms) saying that they dind't hear many people in support of it. Yeah dude, who would be? THe DJ was saying "seems like most people think they're just going with the status quo, saying this is good enough, we don't need to win the Cup just make a deep run and be in the mix every year." Exactly.

I can tell you now, I'm not watching every regular season game. I probably won't even bother to watch a quarter of them. I'll watch the playoffs, that's about it. I see why people don't watch every game. Build up the suspense of "hey, we're gonna win the cup" and then "fuck you fans, we suck" If I wouldh ave watched last year's series vs. Philly, I probably would have been done iwht them after last summer.
I'm gonna invest my time into something worthwhile. Doesn't matter after next year since school will be in session anyway.
TuckerMax and other people made posts about why watching sports is stupid because the organizations don't care about the fans and don't give anything back to them. I disagree with that wholeheartedly. They provide entertainment. That's what people want. Yeah, the organizations dont really care about the individual fan. WHo cares. I'd say the Penguins treat their fans pretty well, but in the end, it's the Cup we want. call me a bandwagoner all you want. When I played hockey, I played to win every fucking shift. I might not have been great, but I made things happen, especially defensively.
Re: [Madness Writers] 6/09/2013 04:23:00 AM
eh, no way boston is winning it.
chicago won in double overtime, eh? dannnng. of course, Kaner with the goal. I'll have to watch teh highlights later. I should probably bet on Chicago to win it all. Then again, the President's Trophy winners never win the cup.
Download "Critical Strike" for your tablet. It's counter strike . I played it last night, seemed like the controls were terrible, but it looks just like CS. Probably not a great game. I couldn't do much' cuase of the controls.
I told Emily that the Finals will probably start on Monday, Tuesday at the latest. hm.. gonna be a low scoring series but i'm saying chicago. Boston's top 4 scorers have more points than Chicago's top 4. Task 0.943 vs. Crawford 0.935. Crawford 1.74 vs. Rask 1.75. Close. It's gonna come down to Defense.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/chicago-blackhawks-end-kings-reign-win-conference-title-042742603.html wow, what a play by the Hawks, terrible goaltending by Quick. Well, not really I guess.. just out of position 'cause it was a 2 on 1.
Pretty sure Bylsma is gone. He can't adapt. Why keep him? They need somebody fresh who is gonna actually coach. I like Bylsma, but he isn't the coach who's gonna bring home the 4th Cup. Fluery definitely needs to be gone. He's gonna get moved before Bylsma.

Malkin - wouldn't be surprised. but i doubt it
Letang - wouldn't be surprised. he's a Dman who doesn't play D
Morrow - Gone.
Murray - doubtful, too physical
Jokinen - doubtful. Canes are paying his contract for next year right?
Iginla - gone, unless crosby wants him.
Bylsma - I'd say gone. Get somebody fresh who can adapt. Bylsma has shown that he cannot. Look at the Islanders and Bruins for examples.
Fleury - I'd trade him in a heartbeat. No use for him anymore. If you can't rely on him for four years, why take the chance on a fifth?
Crosby - no way in hell
Adams - nope.
Dupuis/Kunitz - nope, unless they want more money.
Sutter - good third line center, can't see him gone. cheaper than staalsy.
niskanen - no way
eaton - i dobut it, he's reliable
orpik - he'll stay like he has the past 11 or 12 years.
Martin - definitely staying.
Kennedy - who knows, i'd say trade him
Glass - gone.
Vokoun - he should be the starter. or at least split the games 50/50.
cooke - staying
bennett - staying
neal - staying. i think if he stays, malkin stays
vitale - good 4th liner
engelland - probably staying but he could be a trade asset
despres and bortuzzo - no way they're getting traded. young talent

Drove 90 mph mpretty much the whole way to work on the turnpike/parkway. got stuck in construction at the tunnel, still made it here in 31 minutes. a new record. I made it home at least 3 times in 32 minutes in my car but that's on Saturday/Sunday mornings with no traffic. That was only going like 80 mph.. still way too fast for route 30. I never take route 30 anymore unless it's weekend morning on the way home, too many frickin' red lights and a high risk of cop activity

I read that race across america a while ago, 5-6 months ago probably.
Arrogant? Nah, they just don't play D. What wins Championships? Not offense. Surely not lack of offense.
It's not the goalie they need, they need the defensive system to go into effect. Stop relying on the offense. Look what good D does - Bruins allowed one goal. Another nurse here at work predicts a 5 game series. I was like, "really? it's gonna be a sweep."
Cider, eh? I'd make some, but I could only imagine the sugar content. No interest.
Chicago down 2-0. LA isn't losing this game. I'm saying a 6 or 7 game series with Chicago winning. LA isn't gonna lose at home probably. Haven't lost a homer yet.
in 2008, Pens had a 9 game home win streak. Dang. Well, in 2009 they had an 8 game win streak - games 3,4, 6 of round 2, games 1,2 round 3, and games 3,4, 6 of the finals. Detroit had 8 games, too, in 2009.
It's amazing thinking back about 2009 round 2 game 7 against Caps. they won like 6-2 or something, wasn't even a close game. definitely felt relief and knew they were going to the finals during that game. Then in 2010 and 2011 they're up like 3-1 or 3-2 and lose? come on, on home ice? 2012 i only saw game 1 and parts of games 3 and 4 i think. glad i didn't watch that series. no interest in this series either. I'm probbaly done with hockey after this playoffs. At least with the Pens. Not putting that much time into it anymore.

In high school, a friend persuaded him to sneak into the movie, and the nudity, as well as Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson's general attitude toward women, shook him. After that, when he saw a girl, his first thoughts would be about whether she was attractive; he felt himself moving through the world essentially casting or rejecting its inhabitants as possible extras in "Wedding Crashers." You could argue that this was only the harmless awakening of a teenage male mind. But Strong didn't see it this way. In fact, he feels so uneasy about this stretch of his life that later, when he began dating his future wife, he made a point of discussing it with her. ("I had changed," he explained, "but I wanted anything like that to be open between us.") "In the L.D.S. church," he told me, "a really strong message is that everyone's a child of God — that they're a sacred individual. They're born into this world clean and pure and beautiful." "Wedding Crashers" altered his vision. He spent some time looking at the world through "Wedding Crashers"-colored glasses, and it was not only disrespectful of other people, he felt, but it also deprived him of experiencing them in a more genuine way. Why couldn't films subconsciously encourage us to use the eyes that God gave us instead? "To view people through that window puts a positive, beautiful spin on your life," he said.
hahahahaha, really kid? yeah, those movies probably influence us negatively, but you gotta use your own mind, buddy. walkin' around judging people based on looks? I'll say this - I see a lot of overweight people, especially those 30+ years old. I don't think of them as fat but rather cogs stuck in the family-and-job machine with some laziness thrown in. doesnt' take much to eat right and exercise, but it's not exactly fun either for most people.

Not putting that much time into it anymore.

cider is extremely sweet. i dont really like it. i made a new batch last night. takes about as long as filling up the big bottle with apple juice and brown sugar.
Didn't know this: the German beer purity law, which requires that German beers have no more than four ingredients.

Pretty sure I'm done with hockey after this season. I'm not investing my emotional energies into something that has no real benefits and only a sure let down. I guess I (we?) got suckered into it from watching them make two Final appearances with the Win, then get letdown big time every other year. At least Detroit, even though they suck, put up a much better fight than they really should have. With the Pens' roster/coaching/GM, they should have it all in the bag. A gift. Hell yeah, we expect them to win. Detroit wasn't gonna win and they knew it, but they put up a fight. Pens .. who knows what they're thinking. I know in the winter I'll probably still watch them 'cause it's too cold to wanna go outside, but the regular season games are pointless unless you go to the Consol. The urge to watch will burn throughotu the season. I'll have to find something else to waste my time on. Andy and me, buddy!
I've been thinking for a few weeks that i can't wait for hockey to be over, and it was only a half-season. No wonder every year around January-February I stop watching for a bit. Too many games. I give credit to the pens bloggers (PenguinPoop, PensBlog, a few others), christ, how can you watch and analyze all of those games? If I did, it'd be to study the game to really know how it works and then go coach a youth team or something.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nhl/blog/puck_daddy/post/East-Finals-Preview-10-things-to-know-about-Car?urn=nhl,163816 ha, pens in 6 back in 2009. and they get the sweep.
The Yahoo Staff's prognostications were interesting - most of them had the Bruins vs. San Jose in the Finals. neither team made it out of the 2nd round, I do believe. One guy had Pens vs. Calgary. no idea how anyone could have taken that seriously. I can't find the Staff Prognostifications for the 2009 stanley cup east finals of Pens vs. Hurricans, but I bet they have it Pens in 6 for most of the people. At one point in the above article, the writer mentions something like "The penguins have the depth to match up wtih Carolina." hhahahahahahaha.. they destroyed them, wasn't even close. It was like the Ottawa series almost. Too bad they lost game 3 'cause it should have been a broom-buster. At least they'll have a challenge for once starting in 25.5 hours.
Mike wanted to go somehwere to watch the game, but I was thinking of either going to the neighbor's or Sean's. I'd argue going to the big screen, but an 8 pm start kinda ruins that with Andy.
