montreal was winning until the last couple minutes, what a joke.
so yeah, hockey man. 5 on 5. most of these guys arent very good, a
lot of them are new, love to stand there wit hthe puck in the D zone,
just wahck it out, i dont care if the other team gets it, not like
they're gonna get set up easily.
we won 4-0. our goalie was on fire, no joke. i set up the 2nd goal,
the RD on the other team had the puck in the zone, somehow i got it to
go through his skates, it went to the other blue line, i take off,
their best player is comin over, i beat him then he's tryin to cover
me, i got eyes all day man, i fake left, take the puck under his stick
to the right, i guess it put it forward instead of directly right and
he hits it with his skates, then i hit it with my skate, but we both
skate away from it, sitting duck right in front of the goaltender,
teammate comes up and 5 hole baby, what a goal. what a play.
lot of guys after the game called me the new guy and said i play hard.
we only had 9 players, 3 D , 2 C (i was one, it was fuckin awesome,
play 2 min or so and change, once the guy played 3 min, i played 3, we
were in our zone most of the game, our D and F need to learn how to
clear the puck, just get it to the other side of the blue line. the
few times i had teh chance i would just bank it off the boards and
make sure it got out. too many turnovers on that, either passing to
the other team or standing and getting forechecked. wasnt
frustrating, not like anyone was that good, i was playin shut down on
the D, getting in front, skating hard, making em fuck up...they'd
usually try to put it on net, nothing ever came out of their attempts
when i was in front of em. i can skate man.
after the game the one guy, looks similar to orpik with the big crazy
eyes, cool guy, was like "we only had 3 D and i see youy out there
hustlin back thinking "go go go!". thats right, son.
another time i had a beautiful fuckin play man. might not be
everything but i came up the LW side, eyes up for most of the time,
skate around 2 people, then there's one lone guy. im comin up the
left side and take a hard stride forward and then bring the puck in
and cut right, the D guy sucked and kept skating. me in the slot,
only the goaltender and me. i must have dangled a few times and i was
tryin to put it top right, it hit the post and went left out of the
crease, everyone was stunned. the one guy on my team said he went to
the wrong side for the rebound. oh well, it was a fuckin awesome
play, stunned the opposing team all day on that play. im decent man,
not the greatest but i can play. so much fun when u can actually do
things.
one time i guess i was like 3 feet in the zone to get a pass,
should've been offisdes, i was standing there for a while, i couldnt
see the lines and i didnt know exactly where i was, looked like the
neutral zone, i could barely see the dots on the faceoffs. i won
most, lost a few but they would get directly to my right (one went
back to the middle but i already skated forward right so the opposing
center got it, no harm done.
once i received a pass on a breakaway, i went to bring the puck back
(it was ahead of me) and my stick blade was on top of it, tried again
reaching out and same thing. i went to the boards with it, sucked
man, i had a clear breakaway. no idea why it wouldnt come back, haha
another time we were on the LD corner, i get the puck cuz the D and F
sucked, the puck slides back to me. an opposing player to my front
left, one to my front right and one to my right. very top slot area,
wide open play for me. obviously got the eyes, i deke a few dribbles,
drag wrist it into a wrister to the left goal side, goalie deflected
it. a few people said it was nice. i didnt want to shoot it but there
were too many people around.
later on i had a WIDE OPEN shot (well, undefended shot, people were
around but nowhere near enough to prevent me) from the left side
crease, puck found its way to me, i dont remember where it went,
probably went just wide short side.
i fell a good bit again, the last time i fell cuz my skate slipped or
something, end of the 3 min shift. i was by the bench and signalled
the other C to come on. he scored twice after i got off, and that was
one of the times. he always seemed to have breakaway attempts...yeah
dude that one time i was in the O zone on the receiving pass, the F on
my team was in the D zone near the blue line with the puck undefended
basically standing there lookin at it, and i was wide open, he finally
got it to me like three hours later.
people love to bunch up low around the net in the D zone. C is easy,
u just play the C slot covering anyone tryin to enter or play the
boards area, depending on what the other teammates are doing (really u
just cover the puck in the corners, but im not gonna bunch up).
the other team was dominating us the first 2 periods, i'd even say the
3rd but some of the guys said we got better..i dont know, maybe we
were a little better. that blue team (im on the gold team) was
frustrated man, they couldnt score. 4-0. not sure how the 3rd goal
went in (1st and 4th was that other C's breakaways, 2nd was my dekin
with the teammate getting the open puck...3rd was probably another
breakway, cuz we never scored off being set up. the other team would
be set up in the zone but no good opportunities to score...well,
goalie was making tremendous saves, but mostly rebounds for the best
opportunities to score.
i was skating around people wit hteh puck. always lookin for the pass.
one time me and a teammate are on the RD/RW side in the O zone with
an open puck near the boards. im faster, better, so i take it, a D
comes over, i drop it back to him, he skates away, i probably passed
it too far to his right, oh well.
2 min is good, 3 if u are set up in the D zone just coverin people. 1
if ur playing really hard.
other team had one good guy, i think he had one semi breakaway. got
brickwalled. ah wait, he shot it far side wide and high. i got really
good puck placement on net, its so much different with people and a
especially a goalie. i went very TR corner on the goalie practicin
before the game. what a shot.
i think we let up one goal last week, maybe two? not sure. we played
green, i think they had the best record, there's a white team and they
were changing in the room (there are four player changing rooms,
pretty big) i had my stuff in, and they looked pretty bad.
i have good control wit hthe puck. i can deke all day around these
people, even that good kid i was owning, pretty confident in my
abilities. apparently the A league is extremely serious about hockey,
haha.
once i had the puck in the LW corner on the D zone, skated around a
few opponents and look up, LW F was wide open, perfect pass, i yell
middle cuz i was wide open, he passed it, not sure what happened...
once i was coming up the LW side and my teammate was to the right, a D
man in between but closer to the net, i passed, maybe should have
shot. nothing came of it.
ah yeah, i get the pouck in the LW low slot, deke a few times,
backhand it, hits the goalie, hits the post, and he covered it. i
didnt think i'd even have a great chance, never hurts to try, just
like TK, booom. pens are undefeated in the playoffs when TK scores,
haha.
ice rink has free wifi, so we're gonna watch the game there and ice
skate afterwards (heather wants to, we tried tonight but there was
midget hockey. those kids arent bad, nothing like the texas teams
tho.)
