Re: [Madness Writers] 8/27/2012 02:04:00 PM
damn, I just played the 104st overall guy. Well, maybe 10 minutes of the first period. Score was 0-0 but he played like a bitch, so I got out. Basically, any time he rushed up the ice, he'd put the stick on his backhand and then pass it, there's NO way to defend it. NHL players do do that, but not every fucking pass. I'll admit he had more time on attack and maybe more shots, but he also exploited the game pretty hardcore. Ah well. Like I said before, if you wanna see what NHL 13 is gonna be like, put it on superstar mode. won't be any different against human players. it's not a different game than nhl 12 in that difficulty, either. doesn't play any differently. maybe more animations and stuff, but the overall feel is basically untouched.

FUnny, I was just about to tell you about it myself.http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/more/news/20120824/lance-armstrong-drops-doping-fight/ Reading the comments, people go both ways.I'm with you on this one.. He had some kind of assistance. I read that his heart was 1/3 larger than the normal heart.. I wonder how much larger , if at all, it was compared to the average TdF superstar. That would be more evidence for his inhumanity on the bike.
People argue that he should continue fighting, 'cause giving up the fight concedes that he cheated. I can kinda see that argument holding up, but not really. after 16 years, i'd be done with it. Then again, if he thinks there is enough evidence to show that he cheated, he'd give up to say "hey, look, i didnt' cheat, and there won't be any evidence presented to show otherwise" Nobody will ever know.Others say the tests prove he was innocent. I dontk now how the testing works, but I'd say that's all he has. no teammates, managers, or other cycling-related people have really ever come out and said he didn't cheat except MAYBE his coach Carmichael. he doens't count, if he did.ah well, does it matter? i'd say it does , but if everyone else was cheating at the time, how could he possibly win without cheating? tough call, i'm leaning more toward a cheater but who knows.

On the second one timer, believe it was against usa. 50 second or so left, 2 on 0 miller must have been cheating...I went wide left, get close to goal line, pass, wide open met.
Some people say the cross creased are unrealisrically hard to score along with passing through dmen...assume they mean the slot, I haven't noticed. It's generally hard to store, so I'm not sure the problem.
Hahaga. That 17 year old makes a lucky break. On not sid but the other guy who IS given A GOAL ON A SILVER. Platter. By sid. Sid doesn't try very hard on His attempt.
Forechevkinf and dumps are very effective in 13 . Gonna be a good game. Pretty hard to score.
If you skate hard its hard to even hit the net on a one timer. Hustle? No way you'll score.
I scored two cross creased. First, on a rush I skate to l corner, d goes to side of net on the rear side while other d and c cover the f. My other f cones down far side, wide open , one timer. I watched the replay to see how real it was. Commentary is great too. He said like " when you get a pass that close to the goalie its hard to miss the net " assuming he meant both the pass itself and the shot . On nhl moment live they were talking about the series a bit, brought it to life. All around great game.

Did we buy the NHL game from Toys R Us for $44.99? I'm getting a charge on my credit card from PC Game Supply on July 27 for 44.99. i told the credit card company I have no idea what that purchase is for 'cause they had my account blocked. I thougth maybe 'cause it's my first purchase from my new internet service.. now that i think about it, it might have been nhl 13 but they usually dont charge you until it gets shipped.

2) The hit on the wild player just as he shoots at the end of he clip looks very natural
3) As the flyer skating backwards comes down the right wing, look at No. 93 busting a gut down the middle to get to the net for him, AI urgency like this was very rare in NHL 12.

Content people don't strive for anything. They don't have to. Pretty true
as far as nhl.. i was in the top 7500 and i stopped playing, won my last 2 games i think. i can tell it's only going to do downhill so I didn't even bother playing last night when I got home. no interest. It's gonna be like NHL 09 all over again - get in the top 1000 and only play people that glitch and exploit 100% of the time. and if I don't do it, there's no chance of winning. the key is to play one or two games and call it a day. the more you win, the more exploitation you see, for sure.

Caller : Hi, can I speak to Frank please. (Frank being my grandfather who passed away at the weekend)
Me : Er.. no sorry, I'm his grandson can I help at all ? (I was thinking it might be a call about his medication)
Her - "Eww, the pig has teeth."
Me - "Well yeah, how'd you expect it to eat?"
Her - "I thought they just smelt things and that's how they ate."

While watching how it's made, they're making wooden kayaks.
Her - "That won't float. Wood sinks."
Me - "What do you think boats were made off 300 years ago?"
Her - "I dunno."
-----
I didn't hear this but my brother told me his friend said it after the 9/11 attacks - "why didn't we just warn them?" My brother asked him what he meant. He was referring to the time difference between the East Coast US and Ireland. He thought that the US was literally 5 hours behind us and that while we were watching the attacks on tv, they hadn't actually happened over there yet.
---
A couple of my friends (who were all in college) were browsing at a Barnes & Noble and one of them was looking at a display that had military-type books on it. He was looking through them and saw books about the Air Force, Navy, Marines, etc. Then in a pretty idiotic moment he saw a book on submarines, and thinking it was some branch that was beneath the marines (sub-marines) that he had never heard of, a grown 20 year old man yelled across the store "HEY, WHAT'S A SUBMARINE?"
He will never live this down... (hahaha)

e had a "bomb drill" once in high school where all the students walked out of the building and down a fairly narrow access road to one of the other buildings to wait. I made a comment that if someone wanted to hurt us, they'd be smart to call in a bomb thread, and then pick us off one by one with a sniper rifle while we were on this road.
The girl behind me said "But this isn't a sniper drill, its a bomb drill so that wouldn't happen." (hahahahahahha)

"Have you seen the video of the punk prayer?" Polozov asked.
"Yes."
"If the performance caused you such moral suffering, why did you decide to poison your soul again?"
The judge struck the question.
Re: [Madness Writers] 8/16/2012 11:06:00 AM
good game of nhl.Playing this fag who keeps passing it back to his dmen, you can't stop it obviuosly. I'm up 2-1, then he ties it on the glitch goal. then he takes a 4-2 lead , one was a cross crease that bounced off my dman's stick, goes backwards and over my goalie. nothing i can do about that. So there's 3 minutes left, I kinda resigned my fate to the L. I get a cross crease from the very high slot to go within one. 130 left. I get a Penalty, screw that. He must have put high attack 'cause I got a 2 on 1 again, missed the one timer but I did the glitch goal on the rebound to get the tie with 18 seconds left.in OT, 130 still left on the PK. Kill that with ease, and get another one time with 9 seconds left to end the game with the W baby.dang, he was level 54. good at backchecking/forechecking, that's about it. i'm level 50, ah well.he sent me a message, let's see what it says. "gg" yeah, it was fun for the most part.

Re: [Madness Writers] 8/12/2012 01:59:00 PM
played 1.5 games of nhl.. first guy was a real douchebag, figure skating all over the place in the neutral zone and then if he did happen to get in the O zone, he'd stay near the blue line 'cause it's nearly impossible to check them from there. can't get the puck, either. he scored 2 bullshit goals so i quit, not wasting my time.played a 2nd game against a guest. I scored the first goal off of a rebound and they immediately score on the next possession. handicap? definitely. 2nd goal, i came up the LW side, held in the slap button, Dman holds in LB so I slap 'er short side, goal. bullshit but i'll take it. 3rd goal, my forechecker AI checks the guy in their O zone and i get the puck, pass it back to the checker guy for the easy one timer. 4th goal - I wait in the neutral zone for an opening and then cross the blue line in the middle from R to L, shoot R side, goalie was WAY outta position. 5th - pass from LW to RW on a 2 on 1 then back to LW for the easy one timer smasher.6th goal was weird - i dump the puck with 30 seconds to go, it goes straight up the middle and my center is first to get it with 2 Dmen behind him, as soon I get the puck I'm in the slot so I fake forehand and skate to my backhand side , goalie came up to my forehand fake so I had an easy netter. The weird part I guess is more that the other team scored iwth like 50 seconds left but immediately I knew it was gonna be waived 'cause it was a rebound about 6 feet high and the guy hit it in.. the puck was going downward so it was correctly called off. And then they score with 8 seconds left just from rushing the goalie. handicap? again, I say yes. 6-2, not really fun. This game is kinda stressful. Play against good guys and you have to figure skate, play against shit guys and it's easy to win. play against shit guys sometimes and lose for no reason. Ah well. During the first game i was thinking "I'm never playing this game again, too much fucking bullshit figure skating 'cause my D is top notch." we'll see, I really had no interest in playing it right now to be honest. I kinda see why I sold it. I just don't understand why I only had like 40 games played before I sold it. makes no sense to me. Then again, the competition doesn't really clear up until probably a month or two after the game gets released because there aren't even stats for each person to give them their true ranking.

Ever watch "I heart Huckabees"? I started watching it last night, maybe got through 20 minutes and fell asleep. Definitely some strange acting.. the actors/actresses seem to try too hard and it comes across as "you can't take anything I say seriously." 5 positive even integers , average is 300. so you have 4 numbers that are 2,4,6,8 = 20. 5th would equal 300-20 = 280. Zero is not positive. so if you have 292 , that would mean you have 300-292 = 8.. 8 divided by 4 would be average of 2 but you can't go lower than 2, so 292 isn't correct. no idea where they get those answers from, some of the books are just plain wrong.
I'll have to read that paper some other time, it won't load here at work.
whats the answer?
integers is 60. If p is the greatest of these integers,
what is the greatest possible value of p ?

so what happens when a journalist or editor uses an "off the record" comment without getting somebody else to verify it and comment on it? I thought that was bad journalism? this guy says a lot of journalists do it but never states the repercussions of it.
as far as that guy writing about how females don't look like women in the olympics, all i can say is that 1) the guy is male-centered and thinks males are superior (can't really blame him, that's the western culture viewpoint), 2) what do you think is gonna happen when a female trains 8+ hours a day to prepare for an athletic event? they're gonna be muscular. that's only "manly" because that's how it's viewed in #1. he should get backlash for his statements even if he isn't wrong 'cause he didn't come out and say it the right way.

Later that week, E. Howard also gave Saint two sheets of paper that contained a fuller narrative. It starts out with LBJ again, connecting him to Cord Meyer, then goes on: "Cord Meyer discusses a plot with [David Atlee] Phillips who brings in Wm. Harvey and Antonio Veciana. He meets with Oswald in Mexico City. . . . Then Veciana meets w/ Frank Sturgis in Miami and enlists David Morales in anticipation of killing JFK there. But LBJ changes itinerary to Dallas, citing personal reasons."
In the next few paragraphs, E. Howard goes on to describe the extent of his own involvement. It revolves around a meeting he claims he attended, in 1963, with Morales and Sturgis. It takes place in a Miami hotel room. Here's what happens:
Morales leaves the room, at which point Sturgis makes reference to a "Big Event" and asks E. Howard, "Are you with us?"
E. Howard asks Sturgis what he's talking about.
Sturgis says, "Killing JFK."
E. Howard, "incredulous," says to Sturgis, "You seem to have everything you need. Why do you need me?" In the handwritten narrative, Sturgis' response is unclear, though what E. Howard says to Sturgis next isn't: He says he won't "get involved in anything involving Bill Harvey, who is an alcoholic psycho."
After that, the meeting ends. E. Howard goes back to his "normal" life and "like the rest of the country . . . is stunned by JFK's death and realizes how lucky he is not to have had a direct role."

I could come down on the Tuesday before August 25th for 5 days. maybe 4 days. Emily is going to York to visit her grandpap and hse wants me to go there, but that would be the only time I could really come down 'cause I'd have Wednesday through SUnday off, then I work Monday night so I could drive home sunday night or something.

Yeah, we watched the women's volleyball matches, probably 4 or 5. the one american team beat the brazilians who were #1 even thoug hteh Americans were rpetty new to the sport. They lost in the gold medal match to the real Americans who are retiring I believe. THey won the last 3 olympic golds and went something like 112 matches wtihout a loss at one point. Women's volleyball is a joke, though - they can't jump high enough to spike it most of the time so they usually just lob it over the defender's head/arms. when you watch the men's volleyball in comparison, it's a completely different sport. i'm talking 2 on 2 anyway. the 5 on 5 or 7 on 7 or whatever ti is - that's probably the same.
water polo is a joke. i give credit to the stamina, but that's it.
handball is probably the lamest of all "sports". i honestly hesitate to call it a sport.
the #1 archery male is an American, lost in the 2nd round to the 41st guy. i think #8 won it all, but the next lowest ranked guy was like 22 or something. I think they had 64 , maybe 128 people in the tournament. I dind't watch, just saw the results.
Men's basketball isn't even a tournament. Should probably just get rid of it like they did with baseball.
I saw that Merritt guy earlier, he was too fast. not even a challenge for him.
That Blake or whatever the Jamaican guy's name is in the 200 meters yesterday was barely even running and he still got a 22 second result or around there. everyone else was going 110% and couldn't even keep up. even the announcers were talkiing about it saying how he was barely moving his arms while the others were all pumping up and down.
yeah, hopefully it's a boy, get him into hockey at a young age , get him some good life lessons and teamwork skills. I don't know how much I'll push school. Probably a lot, but at the same time, I know how useless it is. In Emily's family, it's an issue with her one cousin 'cause he got kicked out of college around Thanksgiving of his senior year. Her dad and one uncle were saying he should go back and finish but the kid's dad was saying it's not that important and he's not pushing it but that's 'cause he didn't like school and still doesn't think it's beneficial. I completely agree with him but unfortunately most people need it to get ahead.
Josh and taht BillerStudios is hilarious. I put it on for Emily right before I went to work while I was folding clothes. I see why the one video was scripted - two other videos had him and Joel ad-libbing it and it was extremely boring. I wasn't paying attnetion 'cause of the clothes but I could hear it. I'll call him next week maybe, see if they wanna get together. Last time I called, he never called back. ah well. good luck with that video service.
