that insantiy abs looks like a great workout, though I can't do some of them 'cause it involves shoulder movements such as the A crunch thing, not sure what he called it. I'm gonna do it on Friday, have to replace those shoulder movements with more basic ones until my rotator cuff heals more. They're better than 2 days ago, still gonna be a while. I'm always gettin' injured, makes no sense.

Jesus Fuck, a penalty shot for that? wow, I remember that. NO fucking way, man, that was obviously rigged. Those refs were told to make it more suspenseful or were bought out by bookies or something.
They always show Lundquist when showing the team walking to the plane/bus/hotel/rink or wherever they're going. Hard to believe he's only 29. Looks older, probably the facial hair. After watching this show, I don't think I could call him Dumbquist anymore. He's a pretty cool dude. Still got episode 3 to watch, I'll do it some other time.

Pros and Cons to it.. Most people say it's the best testing. WHo cares. Others say that it's not the best 'cause it's not 100% whey isolate. It was voted the best Protein back in 2005 and 2006, I believe - not sure what it was based on, but still, gotta be a reason it was #1 for 2 years in a row. All I can say is that there's no way protein technology has improved that much since 2006 that it at least isn't near the top. Has 5 grams of BCAAs and 4 grams of glutamine which are important (theoretically, anyway) and couldn't be found in any of the whey isolate mixtures I looked up. People on bodybuilding.com forums were saying they got great muscular gains with it, others were saying any protein will work, some were saying only the isolates work. Well, people aren't gonna lie about gaining muscles after workouts, that's how I see it. I was using a cheap ass version of protein myself and my body is definitely much bigger now than it was 3 months ago when I started working out. Probably a waste of money to buy the cheap stuff, but it would work, at least a little compared to the more expensive stuff.My rotator cuffs, especially the left shoulder ones, are the problem. http://www.exrx.net/Stretches/Subscapularis/Broomstick.html This stretch helps. I was doing 50 lb dumbbell chest presses in perfect form wtih no problem until afterwards. Bicep workouts, especialy preacher curls or whatever you call the ones where your arms rest on the padding while you curl. I couldn't even lift my arms up to my shoulder with lighter weights without a weird feeling in my arms, so I knew it was time to hang it up.So I'm taking a month off of working out until my body heals. Sucks, but I gotta listen to it. Some people online were saying they worked through the pain and are paying for it now, can't raise their arms up. No shit, sherlock, that's why you don't do that. I did it wtih my knees back in '06/'07, not going through that again. The only thing I'll miss is the barbell for doing deadlifts. I really need to keep doing those 'cause it helps my back out a lot. I was in a happy routine of working out, cooking every day while off of work, drinking protein shakes. Now I'm back to doing nothing, and I bet I'll get depressed pretty quickly if I'm not already. Gotta stay motivated, focus on what I can for now. Get my knees better, let my shoulders heal, and hit the gym. I'm gonna slowly get back into my workouts. I might start avoiding the lat pulldowns even wtih the reverse grip 'cause that's what hurt my shoulder back in '07. The body can pull the heavy weights, but then it loosens the tissue in my body. My body just isn't designed for that stuff.So I guess I'll just focus on abs, back, and a LOT of stretching for the next month. My hamstrings are fine, gluteal muscles are a bit tight, tensor fascia latae is tight which is causing my IT band pain.. evidently, if the TFL and glutes are tight, that's how you get IT band problems. Well, back in '08 when I was doing 3 months of physical therapy, my glutes weren't tight at all but my hip flexors were tight and no matter how much I stretched them, they would never loosen up. I even had the physical therapist stretch them for me 3x a week which hurt like hell but it still didn't solve the problem. and my IT bands were completely loose. Knees never felt good but they were strong like steel. Then again, I rarely ever ate, and when I did, it was all shit food.Emily's birthday was yesterday. I told her family how I'm done eating junk food, I never really ate much of it before but I have no interest in it now. So, of course, her mom gives me a huge slice of cake. They wanna fatten me up , probably to make themselves feel better about being heavier. I even told Emily today while at Denny's for breakfast that I don't like to go out to eat anymore 'cause that food isn't healthy and it always makes me tired. eating healthily costs a shitload, though. I guess you're paying for it either way - eat cheaply and get medical problems, or eat a bit more expensively and be healthy.Emily's mom was saying I look good with my heavier body and bigger muscles poking through my shirt. You can't really tell through clothing, maybe it's obvious I work out, but it's not like i'm a bodybuilder. I couldn't care less about how I look so much as how I feel, and with pain, I feel depressed. Back pain is by far the worst, but I gotta say that this IT band issue isn't far behind 'cause it's always nagging. The shoulder pain seems to come and go for now, so it's only a nuisance 'cause it affects all of my workouts.I wouldn't doubt if that's why Jim has so many joint problems - lifting heavy weights just isn't good for the body. I could be wrong. That myofascitis or whatever it's called is no joke, man. You better get that myeloma taken care of, too, man. I wouldn't mess with cancer no matter what stage it is, how bad it looks/feels, or how it affects you. The quicker it gets taken care of, the better results you'll have. I eat more than 25% of my calories as protein, at least for lunch and dinner. Breakfast is probably 20g protein and .. 120g carbs. maybe 3 g fat total. depends on how much fat is in 2 cups of oatmeal. I have to put brown sugar on it or it tastes like crap.
The rest of the time, I eat chicken, tuna, or low-fat beef wtih either pasta, vegetables, or both. Rice sucks, doesn't have enough protein in it.
I made some kind of beef stir fry last night ,the noodles had 5 g of fat per 1 cup of noodles. nver using those noodles again. Regular pasta doesn't have any fat, i think. could be wrong.. definitely not 5 g.

I usually only do one protein shake a day. I sould probably start doing 25g protein shake in the morning as a snack between breakfast/lunch, then do 25 g of protein after working out rather than only 50g of protien right after working out.

smoe other general trends you're missing in your analysis are: 1) gotta have really good Dmen, especially top line. Anaheim had Scott Niedermayer and Pronger. Detroit had Lidstrom and whoever else. Pens had Gill/Scuderi, plus Letang and Gonch. Chicago had seabrook and keith. Boston with Chara. 2) Really good Goalie playoff performance plays a big part. General trend I see is
-if you finish in the top of your division and have first or second highest +- in your conference you should make it to the finals.
-if you finish outside top 4 in standings you have no chance at the Cup, if you happen to find yourself in the finals
- if you meet both (best standing and best +- in your conference [most likely the league but not necessary]) you probably win the cup. Pitt in 2009 is the ONLY exception, whereas the Ducks in 2007 isnot much of a difference between them and Detroit.

There was a tournament a few weeks ago, I think. No word lately. They seem to only have them about twice a year. Usually on a holiday or close to one.
I was doing 180 lbs plus the bar of deadlifts again yesterday, did 10, 10, 8. On the 2nd set, when I got to 10, I was having some trouble lifting it. There was no way I was gonna be able to slowly put it down so I dropped it.. 200 lbs of rubber hitting the rubber floor, no big deal. The manager saw me and was like "Why'd you do that?" I couldn't lift it as easily as before, and there was no way I was putting it down gently. "You should use a lighter weight." It was my 10th rep. "Oh, well don't do that anymore." then he checked the floor to make sure it was OK. Dude, it's rubber on rubber.. all it did was bounce. I did it before, too, nobody said anything. I wasn't risking hurting my back to put it down.

i went for a consultation on tuesday with a new personal trainer 'cause it was free. I exlpained to him that I can't afford to pay 'cause of student loans (plus it's not worth it anyway but I'm not telling him that). He wants me to breathe while sitting on an exercise ball so I'm breathing.l. he's like "Breathe" and takes deep breathes so I said "you should be more specific" and then this older owman comes in and says she was the 2 o' clock appointment. He looked shocked, asked, "really? I thought you were 3." Strike 1. So he goes and looks, I'm stretching my hammies. He comes back and proceeds to work out with her, completely ignores me. Strike 2. I wasn't very happy so I grabbed my stuff and was about to go to the other side of the gym to use the dumbbells. The manager was standing there and asked me if I was OK and I said "I'm not very happy right now" 'cause I was pissed. "What, about life in general?" No, this place. I didn't wanna explain so I told him I'd talk to him after I was done working out when I felt better 'cause it wasn't a big deal. I ddi tell him I hate having my time wasted. He kept pressing me until I told him. I told him the situation and that was it. I told him later on that I let my emotions get to me in that situation which usually doesn't happen. I twasn't a big deal, it was just competly disrespectful and unproffesional. NO idea how somebody could get away wtih that without a talk, so Iguess the manger talked to him. The trainer came up to me later and said not to hate him, "it's all business." Yeah, I know as soon as I told him I couldn't pay he probaly lost interest, but that's not my problem. He just wasn't oprofessional, and it made him look bad. Guess I should have felt more bad than angry.

I was doing 180 lbs plus the bar of deadlifts again yesterday, did 10, 10, 8. On the 2nd set, when I got to 10, I was having some trouble lifting it. There was no way I was gonna be able to slowly put it down so I dropped it.. 200 lbs of rubber hitting the rubber floor, no big deal. The manager saw me and was like "Why'd you do that?" I couldn't lift it as easily as before, and there was no way I was putting it down gently. "You should use a lighter weight." It was my 10th rep. "Oh, well don't do that anymore." then he checked the floor to make sure it was OK. Dude, it's rubber on rubber.. all it did was bounce. I did it before, too, nobody said anything. I wasn't risking hurting my back to put it down.

i went for a consultation on tuesday with a new personal trainer 'cause it was free. I exlpained to him that I can't afford to pay 'cause of student loans (plus it's not worth it anyway but I'm not telling him that). He wants me to breathe while sitting on an exercise ball so I'm breathing.l. he's like "Breathe" and takes deep breathes so I said "you should be more specific" and then this older owman comes in and says she was the 2 o' clock appointment. He looked shocked, asked, "really? I thought you were 3." Strike 1. So he goes and looks, I'm stretching my hammies. He comes back and proceeds to work out with her, completely ignores me. Strike 2. I wasn't very happy so I grabbed my stuff and was about to go to the other side of the gym to use the dumbbells. The manager was standing there and asked me if I was OK and I said "I'm not very happy right now" 'cause I was pissed. "What, about life in general?" No, this place. I didn't wanna explain so I told him I'd talk to him after I was done working out when I felt better 'cause it wasn't a big deal. I ddi tell him I hate having my time wasted. He kept pressing me until I told him. I told him the situation and that was it. I told him later on that I let my emotions get to me in that situation which usually doesn't happen. haha, traffic cone in net. I'd say use that stick, too. Too many amateur goalies don't use their sticks, leave their 5 holes open.

my left shoulder was feeling weird at the gym , couldn't do lateral raises without discomfort so I called it a day.. it was the last workout for the routine, anyway. Might be from pushing myself too hard on the shoulder raise machine. I'm done using those pulley systems except for the rear deltoids. pulley machines are way too hard on the body. The stand alone pulleys are good, though.

holy shit, Jeff Carter to the Kings for Jack Johnson and a 1st rounder. crazy. Jack Johnson was a US hockey player in the olympics, I believe. Surprised they have to give up a 1st rounder. The GM and Coach are both on the chopping block in LA, so I guess they have to make a huge move at this point.
