The growth of the Internet will slow drastically [as it] becomes apparent [that] most people have nothing to say to each other," the economist Paul Krugman wrote in 1998. "By 2005 or so, it will become clear that the Internet's impact on the economy has been no greater than the fax machine's…. Ten years from now the phrase information economy will sound silly."

I don't know if that was even a valid argument 15 years ago.  We were playing command and conquer , then myth, in 98 with cable internet. Zoooooooom, muahahahhahahhaha.

I think the internet was becoming huge already by then.   That last sentence makes absolutely zero sense.   Information has always been trending towards global reach In the easiest path possible.  Smoke signals, Newspaper,  morse code, Telegram, radio, tv, why would Internet be any different, esp considering universities on the arpanet were sharing info quite efficiently and easily.    Mkrugman is a choag, sounds like a good description if it's not a real word, haha,

hey, where is that race? i'll see if I can find a hotel in the area. 10 miles though, that's like a.. 70 minute race? i mean, the elites can run it in probably 45 minutes.. world record is 44:24 or so.

i'll talk to emily. i don't see her going for it, 4 hour drive down.. andy lasts maybe 2 hours before he's done in the carseat. having to get everything organized (not a problem, not much to take), sleeping in an unfamiliar location. i'm sure the list could go on. i'm up for it.

supposed to be 65 degrees in D.C. on sunday, rain showers. not too bad.

i'll watch the highlights later.

The Most Expensive Apple Juice You Can Buy

And yet Apple today is under siege. From the moment in late 2007 that Google unveiled Android — and its own plan to dominate the world of mobile phones and other mobile devices — Google hasn't just tried to compete with the iPhone; it has succeeded in competing with the iPhone. Android has exploded in popularity since it took hold in 2010. Its share of the global smartphone market is approaching 80 percent, while Apple's has fallen below 20 percent. A similar trend is under way with iPads: in 2010 the iPad had about 90 percent of the tablet market; now more than 60 percent of the tablets sold run Android.

When Cook presented the latest smartphones in September, the iPhone 5c and the iPhone 5s, Apple's stock fell 10 percent. A year ago the company's stock price was at $702 a share, making Apple the world's most valuable corporation. Today, it's down more than 25 percent from that peak.

fuck mensa.  i don't wnana belong to an 'elitist' organization. there's absolutely no point to mensa at all man.  ooooh, i'm smarter than everybody else. prove it, big shot, with your actions, not a random number.

so you take the test and join, then what? put it on your resume? that's athe only purpose i see to it. and that just draws more attention to you, if anything.  then others expect more out of you.      Don't live up to the standard? 'this guy has the intelligence of Einstein but can't organize his life/thoughts/whatever."  i dont know about you guys, but at work, i wanna have less responsibility.. maybe later in life when I'm done with school I'll want more 'cause it'll mean something, but this job is a stepping stone. i'm not even afraid to say that at work, but I only tell those who I know undrestand.   some of the nurses would probably get pissed, but that's their fault for dreamin to be a nurse, muahahahahahaha.

there are common interest groups in Mensa.  big fucking deal.  there are common interest groups everywhere.   oooh, they do community service.  so does the local YMCA.

From the Constitution of Mensa, there are three main purposes of Mensa:

  1. Identify and foster human intelligence for the benefit of humanity.
  2. Encourage research in the nature, characteristics and uses of intelligence.
  3. Provide a stimulating intellectual and social environment for members.
show me the point in those bullet points, and I'll show you an idiot. muahahahaha

after taking the one practice exam (which i do believe we both did back in January), I quickly realized that the test might be more random than NHL, and that's quite an achievement.    i'll still never out the answer to "which one is different? a ship, a tractor trailer truck, a motorcycle [with a guy sitting on it], or a sedan.   which one? it wasn't ship, either. goin' based on wheels, it'd be ship. based on which picture has a person in it or can't carry cargo, it'd be motorcycle.  uses diesel? tractor trailer.   what's the answeR? nobody knows, and then again, nobody cares.)

i'd easily pass the test. no point though.

A few minutes before I started doing squats yesterday, of course my left knee was telling me "don't do it, Ryan, unless you want me to hurt." Too bad, I thought. If I don't do 'em, it'll hurt anyway. 12 reps of 225. Too easy. Do some stretching of my hip flexors. Increase the weight to 245. I do one, no problem. On the second one, my left hamstring or glute, not sure which, definitely started to hurt. I did twelve of them, then immediately stretched my hamstrings out. I wouldn't say 245 is hard, but I can't go to parallel.. maybe 80% of the way down or so.
Today, my hammies and glutes feel ok, knees feel a bit weird. I'll probably wait a week before doing squats again. Sucks though, 'cause I work today, Friday, Monday, and Tuesday. 4 out of 6 days.

hey Sean, check out "Mushroom Wars." I played 10 levels last night. somebody said after level 12, you have to buy in-game purchases to win or something. i'll check it out tonight.

·

Skilled at generating new ideas and improving on existing systems to further the organization's overall success.     I'd change success  to efficiency.   Sean would know better than me from his Business degree work, but I'm pretty sure businesses love efficiency.  I know I would.

I'd put the EXPERIENCE section at the very top. That's more important than anything else, in my opinion.

Usually, references is its own document.

I would seriously consider keeping the resume within one page.  Yesterday, I received a letter from some alumni at St. Francis U., going on about how good SFU was to him as the only Muslim student, blah blah blah.. it was two pages. you think I'm readin that? fuck that.  I'd make references it's own document, make the page margins smaller.. it should fill a page.  If you have to, put less space between each section.

And like I said earlier this week, I'm pretty sure that she doesn't need to be licensed/certified to be a pharmacy tech. none of the ones I talked to said they were for PA. one guy had a certification in California, though.

Basically how it boils down

To be honest I consider season five to be the low point, or more accurately, the falling action. Season 4 finale was the climax of the series; all loose ends were tied up. Season 5 was the cooling down before the end, we knew where this was headed right off the bat in season 5, though we didn't know the cause until the very last moments of mid-season finale. I don't think it was bad, just the least interesting. The last season was about wrapping up the story, it did it's job well. Maybe it's just me but I think they kinda jumped the shark with the of season 4. They wrote themselves into a corner simply by making something soo freaking good that they couldn't surpass that bar they set themselves.
People on breaking bad saying wire is the best show, with sopranos and mad men and bb the top four.

I'll start watching mad men at some point. Maybe give sopranos another shot, but the first nine episodes were pretty bland.

Re: Kims resume - read, review, and change if you would please

My first thought reading the first section was, who cares about this, what real experience does she have to back it up? Then experience shows up. Game over. She has the experience .

Put an s at the end of medical and pharmacy operation. That two years of no security violations...she was there for 8 months apparently, doesn't add up. Change picked up orders to....probably take that out, filled orders is good enough.
