Re: [Madness Writers] 8/30/2012 05:21:00 PM

yep, too easy.

Armstrong knows the case against him is too credible and strong, that his legacy will have at least some remaining strength by dropping the fight.

It's too obvious he was using assistance.  Every other cycling was.  And those who weren't....weren't winning anything.

wanna hear something fucked up?

playing nhl, up 2-0, and all the announcers are talking about is how the other guy is completely dominating even though I have more shots, more TOA, more faceoff wins, higher passing %, no penalties.  what the fuck? i knew right then and there i was destined to lose, and yep, i lost 5-3 , all bs goals, no cross creases or anything. a few from the point that got deflected from bodies. no skill, all luck. i even told the guy "gg. total bs." he replied "crazy game"    nah, it was predetermined from the get go. the announcers wouldn't get off the dicks of the other team even though they were clearly getting owned in every category. i don't understand

ah well.

gotta make this quick before we leave

won 2 games last night, level 52.

played a game of nhl 13 just now on superstar mode. no different from nhl 12 man. if you wanna see what playing against a human is gonna be like, put it on superstar. pass back to the Dman on the rush to avoid checks.  one thing i noticed, too, is that when you put your stick down when holding in Lb, the puck went right through my stick. not over or under, but through it.  no idea if it's gonna be like that in the retail version.

overall, not impressed. i wouldn't throw down 20 smackers for that early pass thing.

going to york

game 2

holy shit , malkin makes giroux look like a fucking child in the faceoff and then assists to neal to kunitz .. what frickin' line. hahahaha. wow, and giroux is the best player in the world? fucking joke.

wow, TK scores from his patented spot BUT he comes from the slot and shoots backhand instead of coming from goal line shooting forehand. even the announcer says that was a weak goal.

ah, giroux gets an empty net goal. clearly the best player in the world hahahahaha. joke.  pens really fucked up game 2.  especially Lovejoy.  Hopefully the Pensblog keeps posting these so I can watch the highlights. too lazy to look 'em up.
I'm calling Rangers to win it this year. they have everything.  maybe the D is a bit suspect, but other than that, i don't see them losing. if Boston had Marc Savard they'd be in the running every year with their D corps.  PEns lost Michalek so that's a huge downgrade.  They're top 6 is all they have - replace TK with Sutter and that's a top six.  their bottom 6 is shit. i don't see them winning

too bad there's a lockout anyway
game 1 of the playoffs -  Briere is clearly offsides on that breakaway goal . should have been 3-2 Pens right there instead of 4-3 OT Flyers.  terrible linesman. they have TWO jobs: watch the offsides, and drop the puck.  maybe a 3rd - watch icing? that's it.  htf could you miss that?   flyers 2nd goal was just a fluke off-the-Dman. 3rd goal was a nice deflection.

Crosby opened the scoring with a beauty backhander while falling.  sully to dupuis from Gretzky's office was nice.  and Staal to TK cross-slot one timer was a beauty to beat 3 dmen.. really 2 i guess. ah well., should have been a game 7 but they would have lost anyway.

Tuesday, August 21, 2012

Sounds good.

Crosby was the playmaker, eh? yeah, he's too good.

NHL 13 , we'll see how good it really is. i'm curious about the new forechecking systems

Re: [Madness Writers] 8/21/2012 10:59:00 AM

On the second one timer, believe it was against usa.  50 second or so left, 2 on 0   miller must have been cheating...I went wide left, get close to goal line, pass, wide open met.

Some people say the cross creased are unrealisrically hard to score along with passing through dmen...assume they mean the slot, I haven't noticed.       It's generally hard to store, so I'm not sure the problem.

If you skate hard its hard to even hit the net on a one timer.  Hustle?  No way you'll score.

I scored two cross creased.  First, on a rush I skate to l corner, d goes  to side of net on the rear side while other d and c cover the f.  My other f cones down far side, wide open , one timer.  I watched the replay to see how real it was.  Commentary is great too.  He said like " when you get a pass that close to the goalie its hard to miss the net "  assuming he meant both the pass itself and the shot .  On nhl moment live they were talking about the series a bit, brought it to life.  All around great game.

Re: [Madness Writers] 8/21/2012 06:05:00 AM

playinmg it now, in the finals of hte HUT tournament.

skating is definitely more realistic.  game feels a helluva lot more realistic than 12.

goalies are realistic.

I havent noticed much of any bullshit of any kind.  skating seems a little slower, u cant figure skate all day from what I see.  u can still pass around.

goalies protect the netwhen you try the glitch coming from behind or the side.  I havent scored any of htat yet.  just scored a wrister on a breakaway.  havent scored any deke breakaways yet, goalies are top notch.

also the skating makes it harder to deke, i guess I Gotta start gliding earlier to score on the breakaways.

lets see how I do on the finals.

somehow they sent me an 8 core 2.8GHz processor unit.  I think the video is better than what I ordered, too..but I cant really confirm.

about 3GHz faster than a 6 core 3.3 ....still, each porocessor is slower, oh well.

2) The hit on the wild player just as he shoots at the end of he clip looks very natural
3) As the flyer skating backwards comes down the right wing, look at No. 93 busting a gut down the middle to get to the net for him, AI urgency like this was very rare in NHL 12.

It's gonna be like NHL 09 all over again - get in the top 1000 and only play people that glitch and exploit 100% of the time. and if I don't do it, there's no chance of winning. the key is to play one or two games and call it a day. the more you win, the more exploitation you see, for sure.

i gotta show up to formation at 0715 each morning and go to a PT shift I can make...most likely gonna be 3:30 every day.

just gets me the fuck outta this place

i can volunteer, study, PLAY HOCKEY!  seasons starts the week NHL comes out, might do both Wed and Thursday, cuz it'll help with my PT to keep exemption and its hockey man, booom!

I ran 2 miles 2 days ago, the day after the PT test.  ran 16 min 2 mile, HR of 172.   hurt a good bit cuz of my costochondritis.  today I wanted to take it easy, get my HR up a little but not exert too hard.  ran 20 min. 18 min 2 mile.  HR was in the mid 150's, power output was only 20 less (302 instead of 322 at 16 min 2 mile pace).  it gets too fuckin hot in that gym, no fuckn ventilation.  BS.

so show up to formation, go to class, go home and trade, volunteer at the Georgia Health Science University (like 2 miles from school), go to PT, then go home.  or Tuesdays, class from 5-8 or so.  astronomy, hahaha.  no idea how hard, but should be interesting.

i read the entire PA program today.  It says 1000 on the SAT and 2.5GPA with a 2.5 Science GPA.  but I know last year the SAT standard was 1100 and believe the science GPA was a 3.0 .  Oct 1 I'm sending in my transcripts and starting the paperwork with my unit to apply for the program and get the 40 hours shadowing at the hospital.

i signed up to volunteer at 4 events already.  plus the hospital volunteering. it really just gets me out of this fuckin building.  i wouldnt mind not coming back, either.   a year and 4 months left if I get that program, cuz Ill start April 2014.  There's two phases.  Phase I is probably straight studies.  Phase 2 is 53 weeks of clinical work

Phase 2 is 53 weeks of clinical work, probably some studies thrown in.   So a year and a half of intense studies, I would assume, cuz its a 29 month program.

Me : Er.. no sorry, I'm his grandson can I help at all ? (I was thinking it might be a call about his medication)

Caller : Yes, could you tell Frank that his death certificate is ready for collection.

A couple of my friends (who were all in college) were browsing at a Barnes & Noble and one of them was looking at a display that had military-type books on it. Because Sokologorskaya was claiming "moral damage," one of the defense lawyers, Nikolai Polozov, asked her if she had turned to a doctor or a psychologist to address her suffering.

"I'm an Orthodox believer," Sokologorskaya said. "The gracious power of the Holy Spirit is a million times stronger than any psychologist!"

"Then why didn't the gracious power of the Holy Spirit assuage your moral suffering?"

"The question is struck!" snapped the judge.

"Have you seen the video of the punk prayer?" Polozov asked.

"Yes."

"If the performance caused you such moral suffering, why did you decide to poison your soul again?"

The judge struck the question.

Re: [Madness Writers] 8/16/2012 12:08:00 PM

I played two games.  first game was against a douche who took montreal.    the guy sucked, but get this,.

the two goals he scored were both bullshit illegitimate no-skilled not even glitching, but pure shit.  i know distinctly both goals were backhanders from the lower-ish L slot. and both I fucking hit the guy, he drops to his knee, stumbles, then puts out a weak ass backahnder.  and both of em went in.

second goal was from Gionta.  I yelled in the Mic "GIonta couldn't score a fucking goal if his life depended on it, especially not one where he can't even stay on his skates"

scored with 2 min left, but that was it.

second game, guy took detroit.  I was up 2-0, then 2-1, then after he scored I got an easy cross crease.

he was trying to do his figure skating shit.   so I get set up in the zone and pass the puck around, skate around., pass, and he eventually quit.  Two can tango at that game.  It's no fun, so dont fuckin do it dick.

yeah, no way you can get that puck man.  the F's dont challenge the D near the blue line, and if the user takes control, it leaves the man open near the corner boards.   if you're set up in backdoor or whatever, where the player gets behind the net, you can pass back to him.  always unchallenged, skate around, pass to D, other D, back to D, up to corner, back to D, back to corner.  cant stop it.   and the funny thing is you could skate in teh slot at some point for an easy chance, but with the lead why give up the puck?  haha

great article, for the most part.

"I came to the conclusion that it was not enough to rule out marriage, de facto, and children. Indeed, if I had no intention of having more children, then monogamy was redundant. It served no purpose at all except to pander to women's (and men's) irrational and purely emotional need to secure ownership and control of their partner's body"  (italics mine)

seems, to me, liket he defense will have to be controlled mainly by the AI (in VS) , and that there's gonna be a lot of breakaways given up by opposing players cuz of that new sprint feature.  if you take control of the D and dont start moving back in time, the F's can blow you away, but the AI  as D should take care of that with ease.

there's two sprint features.  hold the L stick in the direction to gain speed, and then click that stick once to sprint even faster.

for a breakaway, to give up some fatigue?  it'll happen a lot.    then, you gotta glide to get control, as the breakaway man, to be able to shoot, which opens up Dmen to backcheck adequately.

the thing is, the D arsenal will clearly have to be stepped up, thats why the poke check and checking is beefed up.

improved dump and chase as well.  gonna be a good series.

good stuff  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJlbPXZEpRE&feature=player_embedded#!
On the way to work, I see that traffic is backed up on the Parkway before the Churchill exit (maybe 4 miles after Monroeville? 3 miles maybe?) which is completely unusual. My first thought was "accident." I pulled over, took off my helmet and ccalled work to let them know I wasn't sure when I was gonna make it in. I had a feeling I might be sitting there for hours. I probably would have if I was in my car, but I was on my bike. Decided to drive up the shoulder to check it out.. didn't drive for more than 30 seconds at 30 mph or so and I saw that the accident wasn't even far ahead, a lot of police cars, ambulances, and fire trucks. Luckily, where I was located, there was an on-ramp so I drove backwards on the shoulder, got off on the on-ramp, and took a backroad to the next entrance to the parkway. I'm glad I did, 'cause I would have been there for a long time.

http://pittsburgh.cbslocal.com/2012/08/12/crash-creates-traffic-problems-on-parkway-east/

according that site, they didn't clear up traffic until after 11 pm. Jesus, man. I'm sure I would have been able to get around on my car, but bein' on that bike was so much easier to get around. All 'cause some idiot decided to steal a car and then barrel roll it 3 or 4 times.

the first game today I was playing against a good player.  but still won 3-0 or 4-0.

sometimes gay goals happen, but most of hte time I dont get too stressed out about it.

played a 2nd game against a guest.  I scored the first goal off of a rebound and they immediately score on the next possession. handicap? definitely.    2nd goal, i came up the LW side, held in the slap button, Dman holds in LB so I slap 'er short side, goal. bullshit but i'll take it.   3rd goal, my forechecker AI checks the guy in their O zone and i get the puck, pass it back to the checker guy for the easy one timer.   4th goal - I wait in the neutral zone for an opening and then cross the blue line in the middle from R to L, shoot R side, goalie was WAY outta position.    5th - pass from LW to RW on a 2 on 1 then back to LW for the easy one timer smasher.

6th goal was weird - i dump the puck with 30 seconds to go, it goes straight up the middle and my center is first to get it with 2 Dmen behind him, as soon I get the puck I'm in the slot so I fake forehand and skate to my backhand side , goalie came up to my forehand fake so I had an easy netter.  The weird part I guess is more that the other team scored iwth like 50 seconds left but immediately I knew it was gonna be waived 'cause it was a rebound about 6 feet high and the guy hit it in.. the puck was going downward so it was correctly called off.  And then they score with 8 seconds left just from rushing the goalie. handicap? again, I say yes.  6-2, not really fun.

This game is kinda stressful. Play against good guys and you have to figure skate, play against shit guys and it's easy to win. play against shit guys sometimes and lose for no reason.  Ah well. During the first game i was thinking "I'm never playing this game again, too much fucking bullshit figure skating 'cause my D is top notch."  we'll see, I really had no interest in playing it right now to be honest. I kinda see why I sold it.  I just don't understand why I only had like 40 games played before I sold it. makes no sense to me.  Then again, the competition doesn't really clear up until probably a month or two after the game gets released because there aren't even stats for each person to give them their true ranking.

Ever watch "I heart Huckabees"? I started watching it last night, maybe got through 20 minutes and fell asleep. Definitely some strange acting.. the actors/actresses seem to try too hard and it comes across as "you can't take anything I say seriously." It's like the whole movie is one big joke based on the acting.

I wouldn't practice anymore questions if I were you. You're getting the same amount that I was getting correct at the beginning and end of my studies which is why I didn't study much after the first week or so.

5 positive even integers , average is 300. so you have 4 numbers that are 2,4,6,8 = 20. 5th would equal 300-20 = 280. Zero is not positive. so if you have 292 , that would mean you have 300-292 = 8.. 8 divided by 4 would be average of 2 but you can't go lower than 2, so 292 isn't correct. no idea where they get those answers from, some of the books are just plain wrong.

I'll have to read that paper some other time, it won't load here at work.
out of 38 math questions, I missed that one I sent plus 2 or 3 others.

the erading, vocab, I missed 8 out of 24.  not good, but my first practice one.

whats the answer?

The average (arithmetic mean) of five positive even
integers is 60. If p is the greatest of these integers,
what is the greatest possible value of p ?

---------------
answer way below

292.   doesnt make sense to me.  2 + 4 + 6 + 8 + x = 60 x 5 = 300.   300=x+20.  x=280.  EVEN if you consider 0 an "even" integer...its still 288.

interesting, worthwhile read.

surprised I've never heard of it before, seems to be a landmark paper on the issue of Race in America.
got my wireless keyboard and mouse. looks pretty nice.  I know some reviews said the wireless conncetion sometimes gets iffy, but Ill put the desktop in a position where it won't be an issue.  no wires, sign me up.

went to the blood plasma place and then home real quick cuz I forgot my reflective vest... didnt have time to hook up the stuff but its definitely worth $15 or whatever I paid. even came with batteries, looks brand new, thoughti t was refurbished.

it was raining extremely hard when I woke up, then died down enough on the ride to the blood place.  get to work, park my bike, and it starts sprinkling, then drizzling, then after I get inside the building a fricken hurricane.

luckily I just missed it.  i'd have been blown around the highway, no joke.

cool video.  they added a lot more skating animations, so the skating will definitely be improved ...better tranisitions and additional skating techniques...less fake skating maneuvres, hopefully. also have some new deke moves.    looks good.

by far one of the worst sports I've seen, and they want to make that an Olympic sport?  HAHAHAHAHAH

NO CHECKING!!!!! wtf is that?  I saw one video, teh guy ...I won't even honor the sport by saying he "deked" the opponents..he basically skated through like 6 guys cuz they aren't allowed to hit...then get a breaklaway from it.  yeah, not really sure how you stop someone if you can't hit 'em.

and on a rink teh size of a soccer field?  HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
didnt trade today, but I did watch the price action.  on Corn alone I could have made more than $2000 in about 45 minutes, - at least thats what the automated strategy I had set up for it did - it was moving like crazy.  but I need that faster computer to lock in the trades.

on Oil I made a fake trade for $34.  I think I'm gonna practice next week and see what I can come up with.

played three games of NHL today.  all against level 43 through 45.  the first guy was the only one with decent stats.  112-60 or something.  the others were like 200-300.  Won all three.  the last guy was teh worst and he almost won.  luckily I tied it at 1 with 1:12 remaining. even that was a bs goal.

then in OT I cut up the left side, he's using his C to chase me, I turn around facing the boards at the goal line and cross crease it to my following F. it was 2 D and a C all basically looking at me.    14 fuckin points for taht win against a 43...in OT.  I would have lost at least 50 if I had lost.  not that iI care about the points, but wheres the balance.

gonna study for the SAT and this intro to CS Dantes test next week to get my AA in Arabic.

so what happens when a journalist or editor uses an "off the record" comment without getting somebody else to verify it and comment on it? I thought that was bad journalism? this guy says a lot of journalists do it but never states the repercussions of it.

as far as that guy writing about how females don't look like women in the olympics, all i can say is that 1) the guy is male-centered and thinks males are superior (can't really blame him, that's the western culture viewpoint), 2) what do you think is gonna happen when a female trains 8+ hours a day to prepare for an athletic event? they're gonna be muscular. that's only "manly" because that's how it's viewed in #1. he should get backlash for his statements even if he isn't wrong 'cause he didn't come out and say it the right way.

yeah its nice to have.  i just bought another thernet cord, power cord for my small TV (ely had it for 8 months or so, believe he still has the cords but it was like $2 for an ew one), and a VGA for the new computer.  wont get it for another week or so, I bet.  oh well.

I could have gotten an 8 core 3.1 for like $30 more, compared to my 3.3 6 core.  an extra 20% of power for 15% more.  doesnt really matter.  437 is cheap enough, and Ic ould have gotten it for under $400 if they had cheaper Hard drive, power, and cooling options.  doesnt really matter.

RE: [Madness Writers] 8/09/2012 04:36:00 PM

interesting, I read below and the article you sent. Edward Hunt is in both and tells different stories.. obviuosly lying to change the factrs. so yes, i agree with that last statement: if anybody knows what happened in Dallas, it's Hunt.
the source is a bit suspect, but at least interesting:

E. Howard scribbled the initials "LBJ," standing for Kennedy's ambitious vice president, Lyndon Johnson. Under "LBJ," connected by a line, he wrote the name Cord Meyer. Meyer was a CIA agent whose wife had an affair with JFK; later she was murdered, a case that's never been solved. Next his father connected to Meyer's name the name Bill Harvey, another CIA agent; also connected to Meyer's name was the name David Morales, yet another CIA man and a well-known, particularly vicious black-op specialist. And then his father connected to Morales' name, with a line, the framed words "French Gunman Grassy Knoll."
So there it was, according to E. Howard Hunt. LBJ had Kennedy killed. It had long been speculated upon. But now E. Howard was saying that's the way it was. And that Lee Harvey Oswald wasn't the only shooter in Dallas. There was also, on the grassy knoll, a French gunman, presumably the Corsican Mafia assassin Lucien Sarti, who has figured prominently in other assassination theories. ...

Later that week, E. Howard also gave Saint two sheets of paper that contained a fuller narrative. It starts out with LBJ again, connecting him to Cord Meyer, then goes on: "Cord Meyer discusses a plot with [David Atlee] Phillips who brings in Wm. Harvey and Antonio Veciana. He meets with Oswald in Mexico City. . . . Then Veciana meets w/ Frank Sturgis in Miami and enlists David Morales in anticipation of killing JFK there. But LBJ changes itinerary to Dallas, citing personal reasons."

In the next few paragraphs, E. Howard goes on to describe the extent of his own involvement. It revolves around a meeting he claims he attended, in 1963, with Morales and Sturgis. It takes place in a Miami hotel room. Here's what happens:

Morales leaves the room, at which point Sturgis makes reference to a "Big Event" and asks E. Howard, "Are you with us?"

E. Howard asks Sturgis what he's talking about.

Sturgis says, "Killing JFK."

E. Howard, "incredulous," says to Sturgis, "You seem to have everything you need. Why do you need me?" In the handwritten narrative, Sturgis' response is unclear, though what E. Howard says to Sturgis next isn't: He says he won't "get involved in anything involving Bill Harvey, who is an alcoholic psycho."

After that, the meeting ends. E. Howard goes back to his "normal" life and "like the rest of the country . . . is stunned by JFK's death and realizes how lucky he is not to have had a direct role."

Re: [Madness Writers] 8/09/2012 04:05:00 PM

wow, guess Rolling Stone wasn't entirely correct with its idea that those two mobsters killed JFK:

RE: [Madness Writers] Fwd: [Madness Writers] 8/08/2012 07:33:00 PM

I'd ride at night both ways.. less traffic, less heat, plus it'd be more convenient. Most likely, if I do come down, I'm sure Mike will, too. So that'd be a car ride. More enjoyable. we can talk about it tomorrow or saturday

If I'm in class come on down.     That ride would suck ..9 hours on a bike.  No thanks.  Your back and neck and thighs won't like that at all.  And in this heat. No way.  I'll write more tomorrow. Going to bed

If I did come down, I'd most likely bring my bike. i'd make it a 9 hour trip on the bike, save a lot of gas money. are there any tolls? I'm sure Mike would wanna come, too. wouldn't bother me, the more the merrier i guess. if he came, i'd probably just take the car, have him pay some gas money. it'd be the same price for me either way. it'd cost $100 in gas or so on the bike. I'd probably just use my gas tank bag, come down Tuesday night, sleep wednesday a few hours. maybe you could take one day off work, i'd need one day to just do homework probably.

hmm.. says 2 toll roads, one is that 43 into west virginia.

wow dude, that Jamaican on the semifinal heat with the American had a HUGE lead in the 200m.  then he let up with a few strides to go, almost lost his placement into the finals.  the top three finished 20.01, 20.02, and 20.03.  a french guy got third.  extremely close.

sucks for the french who doesnt move on.

the #1 archery male is an American, lost in the 2nd round to the 41st guy. i think #8 won it all, but the next lowest ranked guy was like 22 or something. I think they had 64 , maybe 128 people in the tournament. I dind't watch, just saw the results.

Men's basketball isn't even a tournament. Should probably just get rid of it like they did with baseball.

I saw that Merritt guy earlier, he was too fast. not even a challenge for him.

That Blake or whatever the Jamaican guy's name is in the 200 meters yesterday was barely even running and he still got a 22 second result or around there. everyone else was going 110% and couldn't even keep up. even the announcers were talkiing about it saying how he was barely moving his arms while the others were all pumping up and down.

felix win's womens 200m.  the semifinal race I saw she blew away the competition, and I figured she'd take teh gold.  funny is she got suilver last two olympics.  she's also the only woman to run under 22 sec (assuming thats of all time, but the article might have only meant this year, no idea.)

that merritt USA guy won the hurdles.  i saw his semifinal race and he fricken blew the competition away, no idea how close his race was but couldnt have been that close.
