As far as NHL

  1. Caps are gonna choke like every other year.  Vokoun has only been in the playoffs once, I think.  No idea how well he can stand up to that kinda pressure.
  2. Ovie isn’t the same and probably never will be.
  3. I’d say the same about Malkin.. those MCL tears ruin careers pretty quickly.
  4. If Malkin and Crosby are healthy, Pens are top team in the east.
  5. The Cryers are worse than two months ago.
  6. You’re right about BOS – they aren’t anything to shake a stick at.  They aren’t even rated the top team this upcoming season by betting companies.
  7. Rangers are gonna be good with Richards and Gaborik – the playmaker and the sniper on the same line.  Dumbquist is a great goalie – even when Crosby no look backhands it far side from the hash marks.  Amazing play.  Their D is a bit shaky, but still good.  They’ll give the Pens a run for their money.
  8. I’ll do West first: ‘Nucks on top, Chicago is gonna be good for a while with Toews, Kane, Sharp, and Hossa (Wasn’t Sharp hurt last year?).  Duncan Keith patrolling the blue lines.  Kings are good but no Cup team.  Yotes suck.  Jets suck, gonna be one of the worst teams.  Their captain had 58 points last year.  VAN, CHI, DET.  No other team will compete.  Sharks have Jumbo Joe and Marleau.  That’s it.
  9. East: I’d argue PIT, NYR, and WAS in top 3, not in an yspecial order.  Other than that, doesn’t matter.  If BOS had Savard, they’d be top 3 instead of Rangers.
  10. I bet Pens will get 4th place overall again.   I could see Rangers taking 1st in the division.  Not the Cryers, though.  Cryers have better D, not a better goalie than Rangers.  Pens have everything.
  11. Florida will probably make the playoffs.
  12. I’d say Vancouver – Pittsburgh in the finals, though it could be VAN, CHI, DET vs. PIT, WAS, Rangers, and MAYBe the bruins. Maybe, I don’t see them repeating, though.
