Re: [Madness Writers] 127 hours is a good movie

so we played hockey today. maybe 30 minutes after waiting 2 hours. i
get there 30 min before, theres a bunch of kids playin soccer on the
rink. an indoor league practice, whatever man, go out on the field.
then when everyone arrives the kids got off (with their coach/parents)
then like 15 min later a guy comes back and says he has a signed
paper that gives him the rink til 5. u serious? we cant fuckin
practice anywhere else within at least 90 miles (closest city to
here). they have TONS of grass, fields, goals that i could throw the
ball onto from the rink.

anyway, the other team didnt come back so we got the rink back within
a half hour, then it rained last night so we had to squeegee the rink.
wasnt THAT much water, but the way these guys were squeegeein..out of
the sun, near the boards... after a while i took one and squeeged two
corners to be fuckin awesome in about half the time. you gotta move
that water out thin, into the sun, who cares if its onto the middle of
the rink, THERES WATER IN ALL THE CORNERS. we arent playin til its
pretty dry. so then we play and after maybe 30 min (4 on 4, a kid
who's dad is really cool, we talked about the pens and NHL yetsserday
for probably an hour, he was a former 1st sergeant here and now works
as a contractor. his son loves hockey (10 years old) and his dad is
lookin to get him into a league. nothing around here, but man his dad
is dedicated, he watches a lot of hockey and gives his son a lot of
suggestions. doesnt really work, i mean the only way you can really
learn is to play. his son can skate well for having shitty skates and
no instruction, can skate backwards, that alone was good. he doesnt
really bend his knees. next time i see him ill give him a short
instruction to get him going. we were talkin about crosby and the
pens, i gave him the inlinewarehouse site. i dont know how much his
dad wants to spend, but he cant be poor, workin as a contractor and
getting his 20 year Army retirement fund. dad is younger, low 40s.

then after 30 min 2 people left the rink, no words spoken. so we were
done. those guys are good, too. nothing fantastic, one guy has
really good toe moves, i poked it away a few times, im not too bad at
D. anyway, i was talkin wit hthat other kid i played with on Monday
and Tuesday, the 19 year old. good kid, doesnt act young. we're gonna
go tomorrow, he fixed my stick, put in the blade. has to reglue it,
the last blade did the same thing, was loose at the top, very top
where it goes in, but where it meets the stick is fine, weird.

spent 4 hours at the rink yesterday, working on passing, deflections,
talkin a good bit, not a bad day. then played risk and listened to
the pens. not even gonna bother with the highlights.
