Re: news, A LOT, i'll let you know what's good, what isn't.

==getting to it. im gettin better at toe drags and the like. my lower
back hurts after a bit of skating, then i stop, go at it again. i try
to keep my knees bent but with the constant puck handling u gotta lean
over a little.
through the legs is pretty easy, all in the toe. bringing the puck in
and out is all about the toe. basically, once u get the toe action
down you can do a lot. no idea how skinner (instructor) does the
weakside behind the back self-pass. i did it once, very odd hand
positioning. forget about the Russian tap. pointless anyway.
really, after yesterday, the best way to get better at hockjey is to
practice skills, shooting, but really just playing with other people,
because fighting for the puck and positioning are extremely important.
one guy, good, was getting mad sayin "Go after the puck" and stuff,
the other team liked to keep the puck in the corner and go or pass
behind the net, and use the boards for passing. good strategy.
anyway, guy is to the left back of the net and a D is behind him (both
facing the boards with the net to their back, so they are at an
angle), i step up to the leftin between the guy and the D so if he
passes im on it to break it up. this guy on my team is yelling "YOU
GOTTA FORCE HIM". im like "yeah, i do that, D gets the puck because i
leave the pass open along the boards, and he has a wide open shot.
its all about prevention. he can have the puck. he aint doing shit
where he's at. anyway, soon after he passes along the boards, im in
the side slot, and i charge the D, broke up that pass. i know what
im doing. im not gonna force and leave areas open. if u watch D in
nhl, they do force plays, but their teammates usually fill in the open
areas. with skinner, d goes in front across the net, skinner is wide
open man. go to the side he's on, stop at post, if skinner keeps
going behind the net u go to the front cuz other D has skinner and u
block the slot pass. too easy, thats why skinner was able to look so
good. not sayin' he isn't just sayin he had a few breaks, but that
stick handling at the beginning was tremendous.
