Re: [Madness Writers] 1/19/2012 05:15:00 PM

hockey was fun.  my endurance is definitely getting better, we were taking minute, minute and a half shifts, 3 lines.

i had a breakaway, it was a 2-1 and the teammate got the puck through the D's legs a litt le ahead of me, i got it, high slot, but somehow it got away, maybe i touched it and didnt get enough of it, dont remember.  would hvae been a good chance.

i made some sweet passes, broke up some plays, make some real sweet dekes.  one i jumped on the ice and the D was passing up ice as I got on, swiped it down, an opponent ot my left (i was on the right side) and i toe dragged it left, wide open up ice, was lining up the shot but someone was offside.  no idea who or how, didnt really matter i guess.  its fun to play, cant complain about that.

the other team is pretty good.  we lost 3-0.  the first goal i had the ouck in the D zone, had tons of ice to go up on a 1-1, saw the first D and should hve just kept left but i tried to get too greedy with a good deke, somehow it didnt leave the zone, puck goes around some and they scored somehow.  i know another teammate made a real bad pass up the middle, i was at the b lue line, couldnt do much about thta goal.

ohg yeah, i had two real nice shots from the left bottom circle. first i couldnt make a pass so I shot it TL, went wide a little.  then a little later I had a teammate in the slot and naother on the opposite side of the slot.  i wanted to pass it but too many people..if that farside F would hvae moved up to the high slot it would hvae been a real sweet play.  but i shot it right into the goalie's upper chest, neck, almost bounced in.

another time i was dekin left and right on the left side of the O zone.  D comes after me so i psas it pretty hard to the slot, wsnt sure where anyone was but i got it right at the F's feet, went through to the other F, no joke he had a wide open net (couldnt see really, too many bodies, but he told me after it happened) but the goalie somehow dove over and got a small piece of his glove on it.  F said one inch up or down and it was in, just inside the post.     wish i could hve seen it, sounded like a great play by both parties.

had two decent linemates.  the one Center on another line works hard, his skating doesnt look very fluid though.

the thing is, do squats everyday.  the first 3 days you gotta let it rest after that 1st day, then the 3rd or 4th day get back into it and you wont hurt anymore.  and its actulaly a lot easier.  a week already and it feels like nothing.  we did that walk yesterday, one sergeant today was sayin' her legs were sore.  not mine man, im ripped.  gonna do some ab worksouts real quick, take a shower

pens won 4-1. huge game.  6th in the East.  gonna be a great playoffs if they're healthy.  no asham or crosby, too.

won some faceoffs, lost some.  you gotta be quick, pretty much hit that puck right when it hits the ice or the good face off takelow rs will win.  2 i won clean, right when it hit, some i won in a battle, and a good bit i lost.  probbaly below 50% for hte night, but not by much.  some i would tell the F to go up that i was gonna hit it there, and guess what, thats where it went, but the F never got it, haha.

players own't get paid more in the Winter Classic 'cause of the NHLPA and the bargaining agreemtn. No other argument needed.

I watched the first 6.5 minutes and the last minute of the 1st period.  Not as exciting as the Carolina game. Pens had 14 to 8 shots, always dominate the shots category.  I was watching MAF during the last minute, analyzing his positioning since the puck was in the D zone.  It'd be hard job especially when the puck is behind a player or three.  i'm probably not gonna watch anymore. no interest.

Took Jasper to dog training.  We worked on 4 things I think.. "sticky paws"  - rewarding for keeping all 4s on the floor.  Sitting which he already knows.  Lying down which he mostly knows. and walking beside us which he didn't do 'cause he he didn't want any more treats, ate too many by that point I guess.  Only three puppies there, the other two obviously weren't trained at home 'cause they didn't sit.  That's the most basic thing and can be taught in a few minutes at most.

I didn't pay for it, but this stuff is too basic for Jasper.  It's gonna get more advanced starting next week.  It's alla bout the homework, anyway 0 taking it home and working on repetition.  Just like school, I guess.

send me an email tomorrow about your game. gotta work fri, sat, and sun
