hockey

yeah dude, hockey is no joke.  i was hurtin' out there for the last shift or two in the 1st and pretty much the rest of the game

http://www.kuklaskorner.com/index.php/hockey/comments/video-_sweden_wins_the_world_junior_championship_in_ot/  what a finish. 0-0 game going into OT.  what was that D man doing there?  he deserves to lose for that.

anyway, we had 12 people on a team, some have 13 apparently, 2 more people showed up lookin for a team.  we already had enough thankfully.  the way it worked: show up at 745, 4 team captains were somewhere else drafting teams.  not bad.  they come out, i was the last pick for team Blue.  yeah, they dont know who I am, 1st full season.

so he, the captain,  asks me in the dressing room what position.  Center.  i thought he was a D cuz he said 8 Fs and 4 D.  FUCKL THAT. i even said, 7 F and 5 D. dont fuck over the F.  luckily though, he said 4 D, 6 wings, and 2 C.    boooom.

but man, i was hurtin'.  i wasn't playing very hard D, once on a SH the two D were against hte boards and then this guy gets the puck pretty much wide open to the net.    the whole game i was hurtin.

i had a breakaway early in the third.  i bounced the puck around hte D man and went the same direction and he got his stick in between my legs, couldntdo much about that.  i looked at the ref to make sure it was a penalty but i was really too tired to care.

i did get a real breakaway later, skated hard a few times to make sure anyone chasing had no chance.  the puck came close to my feet, kinda sucks, got it back out front in time for a good shot, and somehow i missed.  teh goalie came out play.  a teammate had the rebound, no dice.

i went to the bench.    near the end of the first i was breathing pretty hard, doesnt feel too good.  feels good to play though.

a lot of people said i was playing hard.    probably should tone it down for the first few games so i can play the entire game with a purpose.

i was dominating puck control when i got the puck.  making a lot of backhand passes to open teammates for shots.  they usually dont expect it so its not always great to do it, but they're open.  i have to.

once i had the puck behind the net, goalie was lookin to the left where the puck came from, i was wide open for hte wrap around, he made a nice leg save.

went to the bench and a woman on the team said "just shoot it. that goalie sucks."  yeah, he did.  we won 6-3.  were winning 4-1.  they scored a 5 hole that slowly trickled in.  i went to the faceoff circle and even tol the other team that was a goal.  no dice. the ref says.  back to the D zone faceoff circle.

i had a nice play in the D zone, RD point, put the puck against the boards behind the D but it was too hard (well, more the wrong angle) and the other dman got it, should have been a breakaway.

one time the opposing goalie didnt play the puck on an icing call. they blow the whistle right when it crosses the line.  iwas like "he's fuckin gay for doing that. just play the fuckin game."  i mean nobody was across the blue line, not even his own teammates.  it came right past the crease.  one guy on our team was his 2nd game, apparnetly he broke some bodypart his 1st game back in april, he got a hat trick.  i know the other center scored two goals in the last few minutes.

oh yeah, puck goes around hte boards in the O zone to the RD, im on the left side of the slot near the crease, i skate over and kinda touch the goalie, tried to completely avoid him, brushed against him as hte RD shoots it.  screened baby.  goal.

first goal was a 3-2. i was up the left, center guy passes to the right, shoots it to the left and booom.  that goalie did suck. that winger i dont think was very good.

the one guy, gave me a ride to downtown back in october when we played there, he was telliong another teammate something about me, i play hard or skate hard or something.  i was too tired to really care.

definitely the hardest game i've played, physically.   im definitely ripped, guess my cardio sucks.  being sick with bronchitis and not doing much cardio does that.

one guy on our team got laid out.  he was on the LD in the O and the puck came to him and he put it back up the boards as an opponent was tryin to block it.  i think he couldnt stop and just bulldozed over him.  apparently they called it boarding.  i mean you arent allowed to check, i'd have called it charging or maybe roughing. the guy didnt realy try to stop but he definitely wasnt good enough to realize hey i need to stop no matter if i block it or not.

i didnt forecheck too hard, only hard enough to not get too tired.

i didnt do too bad on the faceoffs.  i was definitely always the first one on the puck.  problem is sometimes it bounces.  3 i  won cleanly, pretty much right when it hit the ice my stick was on it.  a good bit the puck would bounce and the pther guy would barely tap it back, sometimes i'd get it, other times it was too hard.    once i saw the ref cover his face.  our sticks were nowhere near breakin the plane, no idea what he was doing.  maybe the other guys stick was, but i dont think.

i dont think i had any A's, had that screen, and had a lot of good passes.  one guy on the right boards in the O, i yelled MIDDLE (yelled that a lot to get passes, worked most of the time, which is good) and he made a sweet pass, there was a dman on me, i dont remember what happened, i wanna say i went up the right slot and passed it back through the slot to a teammate.  either way no goal.

i was outplayin some of the good guys with puck control.  funny cuz that breakaway i almost lost control, then had a great opportunity, was gonna do my patented go left shoot TR, but somehow missed the puck. just too tired.
