i have an hour and a half to kill, probably send a few emails.

"Everyone who was an avid fan back in 94-95 (the last time we lost
half a season to a lockout) agrees that it was fantastic hockey due to
the normally bloated schedule being cut in half, making every game
count. Expect the same this year." good point. too many stupid
games in an 82 game season. you lose in a 48 game season, thats a big
deal.

already doing stats, its game on.

NYR had 47 points in 1994. 8th seed. highest was 65. By the
Nordiques. Nordiques! well, in the east. Man, Wangs were
completely dominating, had 70 pts, next closes in the west was 61.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA West 8th. Dallas Stars CEN 48 17 23 8 42
17-23-8. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (8 ties, no SO).

even the rangers were 22-23-X. jesus.

as long as a team gets 50 pts they're in the Playoffs. but wait.
lets do a little more math with the SO.

East: 52 pts minimum. rags wouldn't have made it (9th). West: 50 pts.

ah, I was right. 50 pts you're in the playoffs, say 51 or 52 for good
measure, thoug hthe Ties are statistically similar to today's SO's.
ahhhh, but there are actual winners. Man, thta changes things. i
dont know %'s of how often a team wins in a SO. I dont think there
was even OT back then. I would add a few more points.

a team with 92 pts would need 54 with a 48 game season. in 2012,
chicago was 8th with 97 pts. so I'm saying 55 pts for playoffs.
