Gonna join the ARmy most likely. As soon as I get accepted into anesthesia school, I'm signing up for that program in which I'll be a candidate for officer school, get paid $2,000 a month while in school full time, get tuition 100% paid, and give them one year of service for every year of tuition. 2 years, 3 years max of service from me. School's 28 months, so I'm assuming that the Army would make me give a full year of service for that extra 4 months of school, so if possible, I'd pay for that semester on my own, give them 2 years of service, get that experience, and land a civilian job by the time the 2 years is up. It's a win-win-win situation - school paid for, get paid while in school, and not much service needed. The only downside is that I could potentially be called for duty or get sent somewhere I wouldn't really wanna go, but it can't be that bad. 2 years, man. That's nothing. For the rest of my life to live a debt-free, mostly risk-free lifestyle. And if I get deployed, I'd be in a rather safe environment, comparativity speaking, correct? No front lines, maybe the potential for rocket/mortar/long-range weapon attacks. I could live with that, I guess. I'd rather be shootin' those idiots rather than having the idea that I could be rocketed at any moment's notice, but I guess I'd take it. Why not. I'd be living in debt for the rest of my life if I don't do it.
I guess the really only downfall is my back and IT bands. I plan on having them much stronger by then by continuing to workout at the gym, but we'll see. As long as I don't run/rollerblade/ride a bike or do any kind of cardio workout, I'm OK. No elliptical, either. Definitely nothing where I'm abducting my hips like rollerblading (unless it's hockey where I'd mostly be hockey turning and doing crossovers - more adduction of the hips which takes all of the pressure off of my IT bands and knees.) I actually have IT band syndrome right now, it's rather mild, but anytime I squat/lunge/
gotta go give report, have fun folks
