you can tell within the first shift if the person you play will attempt to hit at all costs at the blue line on D.
 
if so, should be fairly easy to get breakaways, or the very least 2 on 1's. 
 
the key isto never take control fo the D men.

played a game of nhl against a level 41.  was winnin' 5-0 and the game ffroze.. thought maybe i lost internet connection but he quit. 16 points I got, man. why even bother.

I got one breakaway goal, 2 cross creases, a far-side blocked shot that turned into an open netter, and a far-side wrister on the rush.  

those cross creases in this game are bullshit. if you do it from the high slot on a 2 on 1, it's pretty much a goal every time it seems.
